Wakil Bupati Bima,mengatakan perkembangan populasi ternak sapi di Kabupaten Bima per Desember 2020 sebanyak 213 873 ekor.Sedangkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sapi potong secara nasional sekitar 10 persen. Sementara quata Kabupaten Bima sebanyak 12.000 ekor per tahun dan sisanya sebagai kebutuhan cadangan dalam daerah.
Meningkatnya permintaan sapi potong dari Kabupaten Bima, kata Wabup karena sapi Bima memiliki kelebihan.Yakni kualitas daging yang sangat disukai konsumen karena padat dan memiliki kadar lemak rendah.Selian itu sapi Bima mengkonsumsi rumput alam dan tidak diberikan pakan dari pabrik.
‘’Di NTB,Bima yang pertama kalinya mengirim lewat Darat. Sebelumnya dikirim melalui Tol laut.Karena kendala cuaca, Pemerintah mengalihkan pengiriman melalui darat,’’ujar Wabup Dahlan.
Wabup yang biasa disapa Babe ini berharap,semoga pengiriman perdana ini lancar dan tidak menemui kendala.Wabup optimis, kedepannya para peternak akan terus mengembangkan ternak mereka,jika pengiriman ini berhasil dan lancar.
